I’m being asked to track and manage BAU work, that management doesn’t consider to be project work because it is being managed outside the formal portfolio. Any tips?

- Just because it’s not being managed by the PMO doesn’t mean it’s not a project. Departments can be doing project work outside the formal remit of the PMO.
- Decide if those activities should sit within the PMO structure – what would be the benefit?
- Perhaps you should set up another portfolio, or part of the portfolio, for “BAU” projects.
